Meet Joey Mazzone

Joey has faced a relentless battle with NDPH for years, a challenge that has profoundly shaped his life. Despite the constant pain, Joey’s determination never wavered. His advocacy and tireless efforts to raise awareness about NDPH culminated in a significant achievement: he inspired Nevada State Senator Julie Pazina to issue a formal proclamation recognizing the impact of NDPH and the need for better research and support.

on the lack of research and effective treatments available to this community. Our goals for
research, education and advocacy got off to a fast start, which is the opposite of what I was told,
that nonprofit work takes time and goes slowly.

Medications

A variety of medications are used to treat NDPH, including triptans, CGRP blockers, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and more.

Psychedelics

There has been a flurry of interest in psychedelics recently, but most of the conversation has been surrounding mental health. Researchers and experts discuss guided experiences and integration of those experiences often, however, these professionals are ignoring the very real benefit of these medicines in treatment of physical diseases.

Other Treatments

Other treatments like physical therapy, acupuncture, nutritional supplements, biofeedback, mind-body approaches, and scrambler therapy are also used.
